In a new feature called Sketch History, the AV Club interviews Scott Aukerman and David Cross about the sketch Monk Academy from season 4, episode 5.
They discuss how the sketch was written, the fact that Bob never liked it, that they wanted Flavor Flav to be the rapper but he refused unless he could win the rap battle, Scott’s love of Duckie, and whether or not David cutting the fat kid’s throat was too much.

I was in a bad place when I discovered TGWTG and was just watching aimlessly to distract myself.I stumbled upon Film Brain’s “Seven Pounds” commentary, where he complains about the protagonist’s selfish and creepy suicide, and how he is treated like a martyr for it.It made me really think about the effect suicide has on people, and encouraged me to find help. Film Brain’s one of my favorites now.
